Part I examines the overall scope of the new Uniform Power of Attorney Law, which took effect in Colorado January 1, 2010. Mary Catherine Rabbitt explains the major provisions of the new law and highlights important changes that will affect agents. She also provides a general summary of when a Power of Attorney should be used as well as what to look for when abuse is suspected.

Part I

Part II: A panel led by Elder Law Attorney Tom Rodriguez examines how the new law will work within the judicial system and Adult Protective Services. The panel also discusses how the new law benefits criminal investigations and allows for stronger prosecution when Power of Attorney abuse is reported.
